CRANSTON, R.I., May 3, 2022 – Mearthane Products Corporation (MPC) announced today that it has completed the acquisition of Snyder Plastics, Inc. (SPI), a manufacturer of custom thermoset polyurethane and silicone components based in Bay City, Michigan. The purchase of Snyder follows the company’s strategic acquisitions of Polyurethane Molding Industries (PMI), of Woonsocket, R.I., in 2020, and Creative Urethanes Inc., of Winchester, Virginia, in October 2018.
SPI’s decades of experience molding polyurethane and silicone components, especially for high-reliability applications such as leak test seals, have made it a respected partner to a variety of customers in automotive, packaging, environmental controls, and other mission critical applications. “Like our other successful acquisitions, SPI greatly expands MPC’s capabilities as a leader in custom thermoset polyurethane components,” said Pete Kaczmarek, President of MPC. “Their expertise in compression molding very high-tolerance components of all sizes is very unique. In addition, the SPI portfolio provides MPC with a leading position in high growth applications and introduces us to new customers who may benefit from our wide range of capabilities.”
Jeff Preston, President and Owner of SPI, will work closely with the MPC team to ensure a smooth transition for customers and employees. Jeff has led SPI for over 40 years, making the company a trusted market leader in custom leak test seals for critical applications. “We are delighted to become part of the MPC team and are energized by the added support that MPC will bring to drive our continued success.” SPI’s team and operations will remain in their current Bay City, MI location.
